Thank you so much for sharing your stories. I’m not sure there’s any way to understand this without living it—which is why, I guess, Jesus called us not just to know or believe, but to follow.

Bravo Janet, you brought tears to my eyes. So powerful and well written. All of this hurts my soul, hard to understand the cruelty and misguided (that’s a nice way to say it) ideas and opinions people have about our most vulnerable, just plain cruel . We have to walk in the shoes of the most vulnerable to have any insight but we usually can’t even imagine what their lives are like. In delivering meals to our community’s most vulnerable, and there are many in our well to do community, it breaks my heart at how they have to live and the lack of compassion in our community. The most meaningful part of what I do are the hugs I get and give and the love I get and give. Yes! Everyone needs to speak up for them, contact your senators and representatives, speak up for the voiceless. Share your love by volunteering and showing kindness to your neighbors.

Tracey, Thanks so much for reading. I think it's in sharing our stories that we can help motivate others to go beyond their comfort zones and see those who are so vulnerable.
